Bubar painted numerous family members at various times in his life.
This is an oil painting of his only child, Joy, done sometime in
the early 1920's (Joy Alison Bubar was born May 6, 1914). Jewett
and his wife Nell were probably still living in Berkeley, California
at the time this small portrait was made.

Another family portrait - this time of Jewett's wife, Nell. Judging
from the clothing, hairstyle, and Nell's age, we estimate that it
was painted about 1910, while the couple was living on Fulton Street
in Berkeley.

This scene was painted about 1950, and probably taken from a John
Wayne feature. More research is being done on the origin of this
piece.
